National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (NATPAC) was originally established by the Government of Kerala in 1976 to set right the traffic and transportation problems faced in the State and was initially attached to KELTRON which was a leading Public Sector industrial establishment involved in electronics development. Within a few years of its establishment itself NATPAC became a house name throughout the country. In response to the covetable achievements and contributions made, NATPAC was converted as an autonomous research centre in the field of traffic and transportation and was brought under the umbrella of the Department of Science, Technology and Environment, Government of Kerala in 1982. In November 2002, Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) was formed, with the objective of adopting an integrated approach to the research and development activities in Kerala. NATPAC is one of the Research Institutions of KSCSTE which is fully funded by Government of Kerala. The Governing Body of the State Council is headed by the Chief Minister of Kerala with Executive Vice President as the Chief Executive of the apex body.View Site >>
